Jason Simon, Ed.S., LMHC
Director of Clinical Services
Jason (he/his) is the Director of Clinical Services at The Nook. He is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Clinical Supervisor through the state of Florida. Jason is a graduate of the University of Florida, where he earned his Master’s and Specialist’s degrees in counseling. Jason’s clinical experience spans a variety of settings, such as the Alachua County Crisis Center, Meridian Behavioral Health Care, and Metamorphosis, a residential substance abuse treatment center. These experiences taught him many things, but if you ask him, the most valuable lesson he learned was the power of healing through relationships. In counseling, Jason prioritizes creating a safe, open space for his clients to explore, grow, and change.
Jason has a passion for meeting clients where they are by creating a nonjudgmental and supportive environment. He has gained experience in a variety of areas, including substance abuse, depression, anxiety, and life transitions. He also enjoys working with couples and teenagers. Jason brings a positive energy and presence to the room no matter who is sitting across from him.
In his role as Director of Clinical Services, Jason supervises the clinical team at all levels in our pursuit of upholding the highest ethical standards and the most supportive therapeutic environment for our team and our clients. He also maintains our important collaboration with University of Florida’s Counselor Education program.
When not in the office, you could find Jason at home playing with his dogs, watching a baseball game, or out on the town with his wife and baby.
