Allison Rhodes, Ed.S.
Clinician
Allison is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern at the Nook. Amanda has attained her Masters and Specialist degrees in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Florida. Her counseling identity has been shaped by years of experience working and volunteering with children, where she has witnessed the profound impact of safety, presence, and play in a child’s healing process.
She is especially passionate about working with children through non-directive play therapy, creating supportive, imaginative spaces where young clients can express themselves and grow. In addition to her work with children, Allison is also drawn to supporting adults navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, and values and identity exploration. She believes strongly in the power of self-compassion and self-acceptance and is committed to offering a grounded, collaborative, and affirming presence through all stages of life. She also prioritizes creating a safe, uplifting space for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ clients.
Allison’s holistic therapeutic approach blends person-centered and developmental frameworks with creative, integrative practices. She values the use of mindfulness, movement, and art in the therapy room, believing that healing often begins when clients reconnect with their bodies, creativity, and inner voice.
Outside of her professional work, Allison enjoys cooking, baking, hiking, photography, reading, going to the pool or beach, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends, which helps her stay joyful and connected.
